After you have few hours rest at your hotel we will do short city tour in Ulaanbaatar. We will visit Zaisan Hill where you will have the best views of Ulaanbaatar. [timeline_event title=”2nd Day” subtitle=”Amarbayasgalant monastery”]At the morning breakfast we will at your hotel and drive to Amarbayasgalant Monastery. Amarbayasgalant shows great stylistic unity. The overriding style is Chinese, with some Mongol and Tibetan influence. The monastery resembles Yongzheng’s own palace Yonghegong in Beijing (converted by his son the Qianlong Emperor into a Buddhist monastery).[/timeline_event]
[timeline_event title=”3rd Day” subtitle=”Uran Togoo”]Drive and visit Uran Togoo. Uran is an extinct volcano in the western side of Uran-Togoo Tulga Uul Natural Monument in Bulgan province, 80 km west of Bulgan town. Uran means “Artistic”, Mongols named it so because its ridge of the crater is one of many examples of circles that arise in nature resembled a nice creature of a craftsman.[/timeline_event]
[timeline_event title=”4th Day” subtitle=”Khuvsgul lake”]Drive to Khuvsgol lake that located 100km north of Murun town. Khuvsgol lake is 1,645 metres (5,397 feet) above sea level, 136 kilometres (85 miles) long and 262 metres (860 feet) deep. It is the second-most voluminous freshwater lake in Asia, and holds almost 70% of Mongolia’s fresh water and 0.4% of all the fresh water in the world.[/timeline_event]
[timeline_event title=”5th Day” subtitle=”Jarglant hot spring”]Drive to Jarglant Hot spring through beautiful nature around and high mountains. Water of this hot spring is coming out from deep underground 150 meters. Water temperature stays at 70 Celsius degree. [/timeline_event]
[timeline_event title=”6th Day” subtitle=”Khorgo volcano & Terkhi tsagaan nuur”]Drive to Khorgo volcano that 2210 m high and it is one of the 10 volcanoes in the national park, became extinct about 8000 years ago. The larch tree forest covers the northern slope of the volcano while its crater is 200 m in diameter, with a depth of 70-80 m.
Visitors climb the volcano on stairs and trails, and upon reaching the top, walk along the volcano rim with outstanding views of surrounding areas; a small village can be seen from the volcano as well as a bird’s eye view of Terhkiin Tsagaan Lake.
On the way to that Volcano we will pass through beautiful Terkhi tsagaan nuur (Terkh white lake).
[timeline_event title=”7th Day” subtitle=”Visiting Taikhir rock, Kharakhorum, Erdene Zuu monastery”]Drive to Kharkhorum city. Kharkhorum is an ancient capital of Mongol empire. Kharakhorum, founded in 1220 by Chinghis khan, was not only the capital of the vast Mongolian Empire, but the epic center of trade along Silk Road, and a cultural melting pot bridging east and west. We will visit Kharkhorum museum and Erdene zuu monastery that was built on ruins of Kharkhorum city. Stay at the Hotel in Kharakhorum village.
On the way to Kharakhorum village we will do short stop at Taikhir rock (It’s a big 20-metres (66 feet) high granite rock, covered with 150 writings in many different languages and dating back from many different periods (runic, Sogd, Uyghur, Mongolian, Nangiad, Tibetan writings). The oldest one is the runic writing, dating back from the turkish period of the 6th and 7th centuries.)
[timeline_event title=”8th Day” subtitle=”Drive back to Ulaanbaatar visit Elsen Tasarkhai & Khustain nuruu national park”]At the morning we will start driving back to Ulaanbaatar.
On our way we will visit Bayan Gobi (Elsen Tasarkhai) after doing short stop in this ares we will continue to visit Khustain nuruu national park. The park was created as a place for the Takhi (Przewalski Horse) to be re-introduced back into Mongolia in 1992, where it had become extinct in the wild. We will do off-road in the national park to spot wild horses. We will have lunch in the at the gate of the park and continue driving back to Ulaanbaatar and when we will reach the city you will be transferred to your Hotel.
